ETFs using swaps may be barred from French equity savings plans

Infographics – The Treasury wants synthetic ETFs excluded from the PEA tax-wrapper. In a joint note, the French Asset Management Association (AFG), the French Financial Markets Association (AMAFI), the French Banking Federation and France Post-Marché set out their shared position on how such a move could be implemented, which may feature in the 2027 Finance Bill. Morningstar has assessed the potential impact, identifying the main synthetic index-tracking funds affected and the assets involved.
